Edward's fingers reached out and traced a path across the top of her hand.
She stopped breathing, her eyes briefly fluttering closed. "You should go." Her eyes flew open, silently pleading with him to let her be.
"I just wanted to be sure you were okay.” Edward took a hesitant step towards her. I thought maybe we could go get a piece of apple pie and some coffee?" He didn’t want to leave her. He wanted to spend the day with her, like they had been. He wanted that closeness with her he felt when they were together.
Bella shook her head. "You should go.”
